I don't have to paint Trump anymore


A few years ago I was commissioned to draw the portraits of approximately fifty members of staff for a company. It was the dream job if you wanted to draw middled-aged white men. But faces are faces - fascinating, wide ranging, full of expression and emotion. Or they even tell a story when there is no emotion. It should have been boring just drawing men in suits and it wasn't.


Here is a portrait of Joe Biden in watercolour which is also traditional but still fun to do. The idea was to have the rainbow pouncing out of the background and exploding into stripes. I hope I've done it justice.
